The
Telugu film industry in Hyderabad was shaken with shocking news on
Saturday that a woman journalist filed a sexual harassment case against
Yuvasamrat Akkineni Nagarjuna, the heart-throb of girls in the
industry.
The
scribe, Sunitha Chowdary, who regularly contributes film reports and
reviews to national daily The Hindu for its Hyderabad edition, lodged a
complaint with the Jubilee Hills police against Nagarjuna under Section
506 (illegal confinement of a person) and Section 509 (outraging the
modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code.
The
police have registered the case against Nagarjuna and are
investigating. The details of what exactly had happened between the
woman reporter and Nagarjuna and where are not exactly known.
But
inquiries revealed that Sunitha Chowdary, who is also a member of the
State Film Censor Board, reportedly complained to the police that
Nagarjuna had harassed her mentally and physically and abused her in
filthy language.
The girl has switched off her mobile for other scribes.
