Rajamouli's First Flop-Show

Talk-Of-Town: Rajamouli's First Flop-Show
This may sound a bit bitter for the fans of this 'never looking back' director, but it is true. According to trade reports, this looks like the first ever flop-show of SS Rajamouli.

There was a lot of hype and expectation about Nagarjuna's RAJANNA during the time of its release. This is due to the involvement of Rajamouli in directing the some key episodes of the flick. After release, Rajamouli's work got much appreciation than any of his own directorial ventures. However, the collections of the movie were bad, attributing a 'commercial flop' status to the movie. Though the movie may end up as an average grosser, but this is not something expected from the hands of Rajamouli.

Trade circuits are gossiping that RAJANNA is the first ever flop show of this happening director. But, a noted critic pointed, 'Rajamouli directed only a part of flick, what can he do with the rest of story. Attributing the commercial failure to him is not the right thing'.

Nag happy, happy... sad, sad..

nagarjunas new film Rajanna is now of the most critically acclaimed film in recent times. The film has many plus points and it has appealed to all those who watched it. The film is good on many counts and the talk is also very, very positive. nagarjuna is getting all round praise for his boldness to produce such a film. All this has naturally made nagarjuna very, very, happy.

At the same time nagarjuna is also a bit sad. Despite such good talk and positive buzz the collections are not satisfactory. Even after four days the collections are yet to pick up. The film is doing well in Nizam but in other areas it is not doing well. Unless the collections pick up during the holiday season the film may not have much chance at the box office. Rajanna may meet a similar fate as that of Balakrishnas Sri Rama Rajyam. That would be really a very sad thing.

Rajanna Movie Review

INTRO:
Rajanna is one of its kinds of movie, where in makers need guts to make such movie, especially in Telugu Cinema. What sort of movie you can expect from a veteran story writer turned director, who has penned stories for biggest block busters in Telugu Cinema? You expect same kind of movies, but if you go and watch Rajanna, your celluloid experience is completely new.
IN AND OUT:
Story deals with lives of people in Nizam regime after independence. It shows you how people are ill-treated by rulers, in the region of Telangana. It is a known fact, few among down trodden has revolted against King Nizam and Jameendaari System at that time and paid their lives. Rajanna (Nagarjuna) is such a person who raises his voice and fights against Deshmukhs, (who are called as Dora in those times) and pays his life. Actor Nagarjuna has to be appreciated in choosing such a role and producing the movie. Director Vijayendra Prasad has shown, How village songs are key part in lives of people in Telangana and also How a song can change weak person to a strengthen one.
Narration of the movie in the first half goes sentimental, where in life of Rajanna daughter is being shown but is beautifully shot. Second half is Rajanna episode, full of action.
OFF SCREEN:
Senior Writer Vijayendra Prasad has scored in his debutant venture and he knows how to prepare full meals. Except unconvincing climax, Story and Screen-Play are perfect. Director has used so many characters during the travel of Character Malamma through out the movie, to keep the tempo in the same pace. Music by MM Keeravani is extra-ordinary, feel good and is an asset. He too needs equal credit like director and producer of this movie. Action by Ram-Laxman is apt and climax action sequence resembles to Magadheera fight. Lyric writers also need credit, as first half narration is completely through songs. Three cinematographers worked for this movie, but no glitch found, it is fabulous.
FINAL TOUCH:
Rajanna a complete different genre movie, parts apart from regular and routine Telugu Cinema. It makes you feel good when you come out of the movie.
Rating: 2.7 out of 5

Rajanna Update: Nagarjuna’s Entry After 1 Hr

Nagarjuna has gone experimental yet again after doing a song less film Gaganam. In Rajanna, despite playing the title role Nag only enters after 1 hour in to the film. Proper buildup was given for Nag’s character and the intro scene is alright as per the live updates.
Rajanna is mainly an emotional film which has a child actor Annie as the main lead. Few action episodes of this film were canned under the supervision of Rajamouli. ‘Vey vey…’ song supervised by Rajamouli is getting good response.
Rajanna will release tomorrow for the public viewing. Paid premieres will be screened tonight apart from usual midnight shows. Review of Rajanna should be out in few hours. Stay tuned.

Nagarjuna challenged by NTR !

It is a common funda that whenever a big hero film arrives, the rest of the films tend to stop their release as they don't want to get swept away. And something like that happens with the arrival of Nagarjuna's films as well despite the fact that he has passed his prime.

However, one young hero seems to have challenged that. He is none other than Nandamuri Tarakaratna rechristened as NTR. Apparently, NTR is all set to clash with Nag at the box office. While Nag is arriving with his much talked about film 'Rajanna', Tarak is arriving with his film 'Nandiswarudu' on the same day.

So far, the buzz is that 'Nandiswarudu' has shaped up well and even Tarak's performance is a highlight. But getting into loggerheads with Nag is something which is surprising. However, they say that both films have their own set of audience. Only the release day will show the real outcome.

No Opposition To 'Panjaa' Except That Movie?

Power Star Pawan Kalyan's 'Panja' is hitting the screens worldwide on 9th December. When we keep an eye on other releases of this month, it is understood that there are no big releases after the release of 'Panjaa', except one movie, and that is none other than King Nagarjuna's 'Rajanna', which is slated to release on 22nd December. After that, there will be no big releases until 11th January. Thereafter, Pongal movies will start getting released and 'The Businessman' is going to be the first among them.

In other words, 'Panjaa' will have to face competition from only one movie, in a span of 33 days time from 9th December to 10th January. Now, the million dollar question is, whether 'Rajanna' controls the power of 'Panjaa' or not. Wait for the answers till both the movies get released.
