The verdict is clear. Audiences are enjoying the characterization of balakrishna in ‘Uu Kodathara Ulikki Padathara’ while the major drawback is agreed to be the dull first half. In particular, first half an hour to forty minutes is treated as a non-stop torture where Manoj has gone over board showing his creative enthusiasm. For the moment, inner sources say collections are not that disappointing because except ‘Eega’ there is no big competitor in market.
A better first half could have taken ‘UKUP’ to further high range of success. However, Manchu Lakshmi Prasanna also did her part efficiently leaving the audience spell bound in climax episode. For a perfect picture on whether ‘UKUP’ will land into safe commercial zone or end in deficits for Manchu family will be known only when new movies will hit screens this Thursday and Friday.

What is Their Fate without Balayya?
Manchu Lakshmi takes up '30 crores' Challenge

Manchu family is eagerly waiting for this Friday to rise as their ambitious project Uu Kodathara Ulikki Padathara is releasing on that day. This is the biggest film ever made from Mohanbabu's banner. As per the producer, Manchu Lakshmi, the budget of UKUP is Rs 23,86,24,000. This doesn't include the prints and publicity cost. Also the interest for the finances is not added. The given amount is the cost of production of UKUP which includes post production expenses and remunerations.
This film was planned as a medium budget venture at the start. But with Balakrishna's inclusion they got the courage to double the estimated budget and are expecting to earn good profits from it. UKUP will have to make at least Rs. 30 crores to breakeven, which means it should score the biggest hit in entire history of 'Manchu' movies.
Lakshmi Manchu is confident that audiences would lap this film up as it falls in the league of Chandramukhi and Arundathi. They believe that Balakrishna could make the difference and make it a huge hit. As per the unit members, Balakrishna's role in this film would be like Rajanikanth's in Pedarayudu. His screen time is around 20 minutes and the impact of his character would be there throughout the second half.
Manoj to Steal the show in UKUP?

Given the kind of its visuals and the performances shown in the trailers of 'Uu Kodathaaraa..Ulikki Padathaaraa..', it is understood that Manchu manoj is surely going to steal the show. His terror striking performance, sadistic looks and athletic body appear he will create some sort of magic in the movie. Also much interest on the project is being generated to watch the movie at the earliest. Even though Balakrishna is doing a cameo with some of his trade mark powerful dialogues, manoj seems to have surpassed him as well through his interesting performance. Well, we need to see how well the movie has come out and we need to wait for five more days to know the result.
Deeksha Seth is doing opposite to manoj in this movie. Bobo Shashi is composer of the music. A set worth of Rs.6.5 crores has been erected to shoot major part of the film. Sekhar Raja directed this movie on the banner Manchu Entertainments owned by Lakshmi Manchu. The movie is hitting the screens on 27th of this month.

Can Balayya win Magical Openings?
![]() |
As per the ruling formula of Tollywood, whatever the collections recorded in opening first week will decide the ultimate result of a film. Applying the same logic, the high budgeted ‘Uu Kodathara Ulikki Padathara’ will have to rely more on the image of balakrishna rather than Manchu Manoj or Deeksha Seth or Manchu Lakshmi. A simple analysis on market stamina of Manoj compared to the budget invested on this flick, surely there will be a big imbalance which has to be corrected and collected only in the name of Balayya.
However, there is also a different version from trade sources. ‘In fact, Balayya’s potential as a magical opener has gone for a severe beating when ‘Parama Veera Chakra, Adhinayakudu’ did not even record 75% of house full collections on first day. ‘Sri Rama Rajyam’ picked up only after positive mouth talk in overseas and domestic market. Going by these calculations, makers of ‘UKUP’ should peg up the promotion else face the humiliation later on,’ said an analyst.
